Michael Jackson Memorial Service

I was at work monitoring the news conference out of Los Angeles outlining the details for Michael Jackson’s memorial service at the Staples center. Tickets would distributed via lottery to people who signed up online.  I went through the process to investigate if it really worked. It did. I ended up being selected to receive two coveted armbands and tickets. it was a moment that started me on two unexpected journeys: 1. Covering the final farewell to the most recognized entertainer on the planet. 2. My transition from Executive Producer to General Assigment Reporter to Military Reporter. Living proof that the smallest most seemingly insignificant decisions can lead to some of the biggest changes.
